I am still rocking the same build I have had since 2015-2016, but I have taken the liberty to upgrade here and there (specifically my main boot SSD, peripherals, and desk). Nonetheless, currently:
    • CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K 4GHz Quad-Core (OC'd to ~4.4GHz)
    • Motherboard: ASUS Z97-A ATX LGA1150
    • RAM: 32GB G.Skill Ripjaws X Series (4 x 8GB) DDR3-1866
    • GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 980 4GB SC ACX 2.0
    • PSU: Corsair HX 850W 80+ Gold Semi-Modular
    • Case: Fractal Design Define R4 ATX Mid Tower
    • Storage:
      • 1TB Samsung 860 EVO (W7 boot)
      • 6TB WD Black (files)
      • 3TB WD Black (projects, videos, OBS output)
      • 500GB Samsung 850 EVO (W10 boot)
      • 2 x 4TB External WD Elements (backups)
      • 2TB WD Elements (?)
      • 120GB Samsung 840 EVO (temp files)
    • Peripherals:
      • Keyboard: IBM Model M 1391401 (July 16, 1990) w/SDL to USB Soarer's Converter programmable cable
      • Mouse: Logitech G502 Hero
      • Sound: Genius SW-G2.1 2000
      • Microphone: HyperX QuadCast S (RGB)
      • Webcam: Logitech HD Pro C920
      • Monitors: 3 x ASUS VG248QE (1920x1080, 144Hz)
    • Desk:
      • Frame: Jarvis Standing Desk (black, extended range)
      • Top: T Butcher Block Walnut Countertop (unfinished, uncut and stained with dark walnut danish oil, drilled w/threaded inserts to keep it removable from the Jarvis)
Everything at the desk runs through my 1500VA APC UPS in case of any surge events or outages, which grants an extra ~25 minutes of uptime on loss of power depending on load.

The laptop on the desk is an ASUS VivoBook running Arch/i3, which I use mostly for travel. The two older laptops under the desk next to the UPS are re-purposed Ubuntu backup servers.

In the (near?) future I may be retiring and re-purposing this build as a home server (media, backups, storage etc.) to start on a new build, but for now it still accommodates me in my daily routines.

I used to have one of those, I love them. I ended up moving on though because the lack of a Windows key drove me nuts heh.

Hence the special cable, I wrote a config that maps CAPS_LOCK to that key (because you know, who in their right mind uses that key anyways?). Only downside, I find myself hitting CAPS on other workstations and wonder why it doesn’t function as the Windows key.
