Understanding the hosting companies best for you

Dedicated Hosting:
  • SecuredServers - As a division of PhoenixNAP, their dedicated servers are often resold by large GSP's (such as MCProHosting).
  • ServerMania - Offers dedicated servers and VPSs.
  • Hetzner - Offers dedicated servers in Europe, though there are setup fees.
  • OVH - Offer free DDoS mitigation with their VAC program. Offer new hardware on their Enterprise tier and older cheaper hardware at their daughter company SYS (SoYouStart). They charge large up-front setup fees, but reward loyalty with discounts.
  • Intreppid (@Intreppid) - Costly, but these guys generously support the Spigot project and host most of the top minecraft servers as well as providing DDoS mitigation solutions to these customers. Top notch support as well as products from everything I've heard. They've had recent network issues (2/2014).
  • ReliableSite - Utilize a data center in NJ and have an excellent network. Offers DDoS protection for a bit cheaper than Intreppid at the same level. Everything is modular and components can be upgraded on the fly as you have need.
  • WholesaleInternet - Offers dedicated servers.
  • DataShack - Sister company of the above.
  • NFOservers - NFOservers is a premium US game server provider. Since opening thirteen years ago they have become known as one of the top hosts in the business. They own all their hardware and use InterNap as a carrier.

VPS Providers:
  • RamNode - A well known Minecraft friendly VPS provider with three US locations and a "partner" location in the Netherlands. Only allows Minecraft with Premium SSD plans.
  • Prometeus - I've heard amazing things about this provider of VPS services in Europe.
