Creating External .yml Files for GUIs
  • When you first load up the plugin it will generate the "DeluxeMenus" folder. Inside this folder you will find one file...the config.yml! You can put all your menus and options into this file directly, or you can reference a file and it will create a new menu file for you (in a separate folder).

To do this you would add the following under the "gui_menus:" section of the config:

    Code (Text):
    main:
        file: main.yml

It is important that you add the .yml to the filename after the "file:" part.

You can do this as many times as you want. When you are finished, reload the plugin. If you check your "DeluxeMenus" folder you will see a new folder inside of it entitled "gui_menus". This new folder contains all the externally referenced GUIs. You can open any .yml file and edit the menu directly.

The syntax should be exactly the same. Except instead of starting with "gui_menus:", like it would if you were using the config file, It will start with the menu options (menu_title: will be at the top). The new file also contains several lines of notes that explain each attribute available to your items, and the options available on the menu itself (You can also check the Wiki pages for more detailed information about those options).
