MVdW Effects - Google Translate
FOLLOWING INFORMATION IS FOR A FUTURE VERSION
Description(top)Due to a paid API when requests reach a certain amount of translations it is required for the user to create their own Google API key for the translator API. This API key allows plenty of translations for free, however if you are ever to reach above X million translated words/month you will have to add funds to google to allow translating so many words.
Previously MVdW Software plugins would use a 'kinda hackish' way on translating. This is no longer allowed and blocked hence the reason for this guide on how to set it up legally.
Step 1) Create a Google Project(top)Go to https://console.developers.google.com/project and create a new project
Step 2) Enable the Translation API(top)As soon as the project is created you can start enabling the features of the project (in this case translation). Search for the translation API and enable it.
Step 3) Create credentials(top)Next up we need to create the API key for the config. Click on the blue button " Go to Credentials" or click " Credentials" on the left.
You will need to create a SERVER CREDENTIAL. In case you open the credentials view using the blue "Go to credentials" button it will look like this:
You can OPTIONALLY add your server IP address if you want to secure the requests (usually when you start paying).
Step 4) Copy the credentials to the placeholder config(top)Copy the generated key and paste it
Copy the key to the effects/effect_translate.yml yml file under "api-key:"
Next you also need to copy the APP ID. It is in the top in the URL behind "project="
Copy the key to the effects/effect_translate.yml yml file under "api-id:"
